Hi Simon,

I suspect your hidebox is not set up properly, thus the leos not
spending much time in there and getting skin shed stuck. My formula is a
cool whip tub or equivalent, hole cut on the center of the top just big
enough for exit/entry, and about 2" of moist vermiculite (about 1:1 by
weight). It helps to leave jagged edges in the opening to facilitate
their shed process. My gecko room is fairly dry and my leos do not have
shed problems.

The problem with taking shed off of toes is that the gex get highly
stressed. Soaking for 15 minutes in shallow warm water is good, then
work on them for five minutes. I like to use tweezers for this. The more
multiple skin sheds you have on there the harder it will be. Take a
break after five minutes and repeat once more a day if they are not too
freaked out. If so, just wait until the next day until it is all gone.
If this does not work in 2-3 days you need help. If you do see raw skin
or bones you need to get the leos off sand and those type of substrates
and onto paper towels. Put some Neosporin on there.
