Hi John,
I have no experience with T.mauritanica but Iam breeding Tarentola boettgeri
hierrensis for some time now. The chit-Chat Article about T.mauritanica gives
you a good basis and I would stress the demand for a larger tank to make it
easier to get a Temp-Gradient with a hot basking spot and cooler retreats.
There has been already published Data about TDSDfor the sister taxons from the
canary islands (T.angustimentalis which is closely related to t.mauretanica).
They show that with constantly 27-30C you get mostly female, with 22,4-26,4C
as an average Temp you get mostly males, and at constantly 32C the sex relation
is equal.
With constant Temps below 25C there were wasnt any Hatching, but for
sex-determination the average Temp during incubation is critical, so with
day-highs and night-drops you may get succesful hatching at even lower average
Temps than 25C.
