Tarentola are extremely adaptable arid geckoes.  Months w/o food or water are
nothing they cannot handle, in addition to hot days and cold nights.

The've crossed the Atlantic from mainland Africa to colonize some Caribbean
islands.

The moss is way off, and sand would work well enough.  Gravel might be more
naturalistic though.

You should just remove the eggs, moving the parents around is just a hassle.
I would remvove the heat tape so that a larger temperature drop will occur.

Certainly, with them being new, keep a water dish constantly filled with
fresh water and feed supplemented food for the first week or two.
Afterwards, it will be sufficient to remove the dish, and satisfy their
liquid requirement with water sprayed upon a rock each morning, if you are
concerned with the naturalisitic look.
