[Gecko] Golden Gecko

At a recent fair, I found golden geckos - I think they were probably named incorrectly (as I can't find them anywhere on the web) and should have been gold-eyed geckos (Cyrtodactylus louisiadensis).  Can anyone confirm that this is likely?    Also, we were told to feed on similar food to leopard geckos, but have not yet seen them eat - it is possible that they only do at night, but even when we sit in the room with a night-light on, we see nothing - we've tried brown and black crickets, mealworms, waxworms and small locusts.  Any info or advice would be much appreciated,   Zahra
