<< None of these plants can support the tokays
weight but they often like to hide in among them>>

I think a lot of people may short change the aesthetic appeal of their
terrariums for this reason - "the lizards are to heavy for them". In most
case, the lizards simply would not use the plants for basking areas,
activity areas, etc.! This is the way things happen in nature. As long as
there are other areas for the animals to carry out their routines, they
will avoid the plants. In terrariums that are too small, Pothos would be a
horrible choice for adult leachianus, for example. Most plants suitable
for terrariums would be a horrible basking platform for any Tokay. The
ability for the animal to hide in it, or to break-up visual is most
important. Pothos is the best all around choice for any terrarium. I even
use it in glass jars, in which I keep some of my juveniles. It takes
something beyond neglect to bring this species withering to the ground.

I have a 60 gallon tank with Tokays in it. My favorite is Pothos. I have
two different types in the tank, one variegated and one normal. Pathos is
very hardy. I also have some other tropical plants that look like palms. I
also have a pony tail palm. None of these plants can support the tokays
weight but they often like to hide in among them.
