PIJAC's web site is currently down.
Here's the action plan:
I am compiling a rebuttal to that letter. Any evidence I can use to support
my rebuttal would be greatly appreciated, including records of mortality
rates in breeding programs, and cases of CB animals being an increasing
amount of the animals offered for sale in pet stores. Pictures of breeding
facilities, accounts of animal conditions, total counts of animals being
housed vs. cases of salmonella in household and such things would all be
helpful.
I have gotten kingsnake.com to offer free hosting and free banner marketing
and am looking for a web designer to donate their time in creating the grass
roots contact database and forum page. This information would be used as
support for PIJAC's cause on a grass roots level, and would be considered a
PIJAC site that they manage. This site would also be used as a center for
PIJAC to receive donations that will be used specifically to deal with the
issue of a ban on reptiles.
I am also going to be setting up an online petition and sending out copies
to everyone who receives a zoomed catalog in the mail. LLLReptile has also
agreed to send one out with every order that comes through their doors. I
will post information about how to spread the news and gather supporter
information as soon as I have it organized.
This is week one of a debate that will probably not be over soon, but since
it is a national issue, it's something we all can and must be involved in.
Cheers,

Josh,
I immediately thought of PIJAC as soon as I saw the HSUS release. Do you
have
their website addy? Mine is not working. One point I forgot to emphasize in
my
response to this was the benefits of captive breeding programs.
