It depend on the 'type' of glass.  Most glass used commercially for the
production of windows/aquariums will filter most (and in most cases all)
UVB.  I've been told it's the iron in the glass that does not let UVB to
pass through.  Generally most aquarium glass lids are made from the same
'cheaper' glass (which contains iron) and won't allow any UVB through.
