Hi Nathan,
Sorry you lost your gecko. Sometimes an infection can get to the beyond
help stage before it is noticed. You might want to call a local vet and see
if they can do a necropsy for you and what they require. Im not sure if
freezing would have an impact on this. It sounds like the infection was the
cause. It may have been due to a wound. I would take a close look at the
others in the cage.
