This has nothing to shed retaining -- I've seen two cases of the "swollen eye" problem, both in geckos. In both incidents, vets lanced the eye to drain it and treated it with antibiotics. In both cases, the eyes continued to swell and was only relieved by draining. The swollen eye was permanently blind.
The case that I care for (2 years), I drain with a insulin needle about once every two weeks. My vet could only recommend removal of the eye for a permanent solution. Have not done that. I continue to drain the eye. About the shed retaining -- I recommend putting a warm wash cloth over the eye for about ten to fifteen minutes. The skin is easy to remove. This works very well with tamed tokays : - ) Leann Leaping Lizards Day Geckos www.daygecko.com Membership Secretary, Board of Directors Global Gecko Association www.gekkota.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tony Gamble" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2002 7:10 AM Subject: Re[2]: [Gecko] Retained eyecap in Tokay > Hello John, > > Wednesday, March 27, 2002, 4:01:11 AM, you wrote: > Jac> I would like spme information about this issue, too.
