That was the method i used to take in a few of the fecal samples, however the vet told me that it wasn't the best way to. She said that by me placing the sample on moist paper towel that the wetness actually makes the eggs explode, therefore making the test come back negative, which would not be accurate. She told me to put the sample in a plastic container next time just by itself and place it in the fridge.
Is this true about the wetness making eggs explode?

What i would do is house the leopard gecko on moistened paper towel.
When the gecko produces, fold the paper towel up and place in zip lock
bag and put in the refrigerator until you can get it to a vet. The sooner
you get it there the better. Even if it is not a lot of stool they should
still be able to do a direct smear or acid fast. I can run both tests off
very little stool.

<smaller>Catriona,

How should i get a fecal sample if most of the time they defecate runny
useless stools? Very seldom do they defecate something hard that may be
useful.

What would you do in this instance? Because i will more than gladly take
another sample in, but that's if a good one ever becomes available.

Thanks
