Would it help to use the same advice as for mice? Once he gets the ones in the house out, should he try to fill any small holes the geckos could be coming in from? Also, if he doesn't have the geckos, will he have bugs like cockroaches?

I agree...but I do know another thing that would work, in the similar
vein--glue traps.
And if they're diligent about watching the traps, you can get the geckos
off before they die--just use oil.
