Yes, the other two were malnourished, but not as badly as Lucky. The male was having problems shedding, and they were both being attacked by another type of gecko kept in the tank with them (bites, infected wounds).
 
I'll try the microwave thing... if the wood doesn't come out like it went in I'll just get rid of it. Thanks. :)

Glad that you have a pair of blizzards to keep you company.  Were they malnourished when you rescued them?

What about zapping the wood in your microwave for 30 seconds or so to "sterilize" it?  The bark does have a tendency to "want" to separate from the wood.
