I hand fed mine babyfood (chicken mixed with a little water and calcium
dust) by using a syringe and putting a dab of it on her face. She would
lick off quite a bit. I did eventually have to have her euthanized
because she had a huge abdominal mass. It cost about 35 dollars to have
her put down. Good luck.

night,
even without cutting their heads off. I just dropped them into the
enclosure in front of her, one at a time. However, in the morning I
found
them regurgitated. So I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take her
to
the vet, although I don't have much confidence in any of the local vets
as
far as leos are concerned. I cleaned her enclosure today and am waiting
for her furniture to dry off to put it and her back in it. Maybe that
will
perk her up a bit -- or not.

I hand fed two very sick geckos, one leopard and one fat tail. The
best
way I found to get them to eat is to cut head off of the mealworm,
then
hold the mealworm body with the open end and some of the guts hanging
out
in front of the geckos mouth. You can also gently touch the guts to
the
geckos mouth. Both my geckos would then lick their faces and while
they
were doing that, I would try to slip the meal worm in.

My older gecko Na?Toth seems to be wasting away. She hasn?t been
eatingmany of the mealworms I?ve been feeding her, so I tried
crickets. In
order to get her to notice them I have to take out all of the
furniturefrom her enclosure so it?s just her and the crickets.
After a while when
she stops eating I put her furniture back so she can go and hide
again.She ate several a few days ago but then the next day I found
regurgitatedcrickets in the enclosure.
I had the same sort of problem with her a couple of years ago and
took her
to a vet. At that time the problem turned out to be that the
temperaturein her cage wasn?t warm enough. That?s definitely not
the case this time.
I had to try to force feed her while she was recovering, which was
a trial
because we never could get her to open her mouth ? even the vet
couldn?tdo it!
She?s been a weird gecko from the beginning. I bought her in a pet
store(yeah, I know?) and all she?s ever wanted to do is hide.
She?s totally
different from Sadie, the gecko I bought from Julie, who?s a little
glutton and has a definite personality. She?s a doll!
This might sound cruel, but I?m not sure I want to spend a lot of
money or
time trying to find out what?s wrong with Na?Toth and then trying
to get
her better, under the circumstances. I also don?t want her to starve
herself to death, because I know that has to be painful. Is it
possible to
euthanize a gecko like a dog or cat?

IMHO,
mealies shouldn't be a staple food source for geckos -- they're too
crunchy. The exoskeletons are very difficult to digest..
Anyway, that being said, what does her poop look like? IS she pooping?
She could have an impaction from built up chitin from the mealies,
that's
why I'm asking.

Mealworms are just fine for your geckos.I know many
breeders that only feed them with no problems.You may

One of the parasite that is often looked over by veterinarians is =
