First of all, if its libgeda, Edit configure.ac from the sources, and change AM_GNU_GETTEXT_VERSION([0.16.1]) To depend on the version you happen to have. Does it cause grammatical problems to assemble strings like that? Perhaps we can do something to re-engineer the way the messages are passed, and send the whole string into the function in one go.
