I was in your situation (I needed to get the simple job done) but after reading some manuals (gnuplot, awk, gnuplot and make), I realized that it was quite fast and direct. All in all, I'd would say (for now) that it would be better to have tutorials and examples of how to do it at "the linux way" than to have (now) limitated graphical tools. See you! Leandro
