The resposnses seem to be in.. doesn't seem like the thread is
particularly active any more.

Summary:

They would recommend using launchpad for all translations, to avoid
merge conflicts. (I agree - if we're going to use it, lets use it.
Translators can still upload .po files to it if they prefer to translate
things offline).

BSD translations can be re-licensed as GPL, but we might want to put a
copy of the BSD license text somewhere, mentioning that some
translations are / were originally BSD licensed, perhaps pointing back
to Launchpad where the tracking of which license each string is under is
kept. (Not that this information is actually displayed publically, but
they assure me the information is available if required).

Please read the thread though, in case I've mis-represented any of the
opinions there. Most did come with the usual IANAL disclaimer of course.

Any thoughts?
