IMHO, if such a program is supposed to do its job without manual 
interaction, it is no better than a heavy symbol lib. They both need to 
be maintained locally to fit the local requirements.


I like the way, the kicad tutorial shows basic operations -- move a 
track, change properties, etc. One of them just caught my eye:

To change an existing track's width, first change the overall program's 
track width using the dialog as before or the pull-down menu, and then 
right click on the trace. Via sizes are changed the same way.

This is awkward when you just need to increase/decrease line thickness a 
little bit. The one key interface of pcb is definitely better at this. 
However, if the need is to set a size to a specific value, the kicad way 
is more efficient. Can we have both, please? That is, an interactive 
increment/decrement and a GUI way to set a size to a specified value.
