Yes, gschem is where blocks/sets/groups of net segments need to be defined as
having certain attributes first,
then related to attributes on physical layout objects such as vias and traces
and pads.
In the layout, each object needs the full list of attached attributes, since
it is individually editable in the layout program, (yes any layout program
works that way).
