Hey everyone, I have to say I'm really quite enthusiastic about Geeqie, it's one of the best (for me personally: the best) image browser/viewer out there. As I mentioned earlier in this list, I want to propose Geeqie to the Xubuntu developers to include it as default image viewer. (The discussion is still in progress, you can see some of the results here if you're interested: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Xubuntu/Specifications/Karmic/GPicViewVsGeeqie)
In the course of these discussions, the heaviest point of criticism was Geeqie's UI and partly I have to agree with that. I personally am quite used to the three-pane-view, mainly because I used GQView before. But to have a simple view (like gpicview here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Xubuntu/Specifications/Karmic/GPicViewVsGeeqie?action=AttachFile&do=get&target=gpicview.png) per default would be nice for new users. Also the menus are quite overpopulated, some streamlining of the interface would be really nice there. I've been using the beta1 of Geeqie recently and with the (tbh quite amazing) new features this criticism is even more arguable. I've also had a look at your roadmap and it seems that UI-tweaking was in the alpha-phase of the project. In case you've already had a big discussions about this aspect of the software I would understand if you decide to disregard my arguments. Nevertheless I wanted to forward this to you to see what you think. In case you need/want a mockup of what I'd have in mind, I would be glad to deliver that.
