FYI, I did confirm that this patch works with the classic memory system. The 
comment for this patch should be updated to reflect that (i.e. delete the parts 
that say ruby only, takes advantage of ruby, etc.).

The comment should also be updated by removing the part that says the patch has 
not been tested with O3.
