Im trying to follow this thread... Have you run Diag's on it, not a
system memory test, FULL DIAGNOSTICS? 10-15 mins... you could have a
thermal issue in a chip or chip set, the processor, memory chips. Or
some component on the motherboard.

Honestly I would NEVER suggest running something full time like SAM on a
laptop, if you?re a DJ yes... couple hours fine because it will handle
it, but laptops were NEVER designed to dissipate heat efficently for 18+
hrs a day. Im certified on IBM's, CPQ/HP and Dell's the NUMBER ONE
KILLER.. Use that laptop all day for months... and Mr Tech will be
coming over to replace your motherboard, memory and processor.

My new HP laptop, yeah is faster than any of my other machines, except
my servers, but you can fry an egg on the back after 8 hrs of use.

How old is the laptop? Have you called it in if its under warranty.
Remember this, those Errors that Micro$oft throws out, aren't always
accurate, sounds more like you have a thermal issue in a memory chip...
did you try removing one chip, and run the test. Sorry if this is
repeating as I only read this part of the thread since I chimed in
yesterday

i really hate to post over and over again to the list with
(dammit, its not working help me.... ) message
well i plugged the laptop into the wall directly to bypass any power
save
settings
it may be seeing by going into my battery backup unit.

I ran the Memory Test and it ran for quite a while.
I even checked the laptops battery life itself ( 104 hours in standby
available )
The test ran for a good 10-15 minutes.............until the machine went

blank again.

Thats as far as i can get. No idea what else to do related to this mem
test
cause the machine wont stay on.
I suppose i can give the machine to a guy i know who can test it for me
but.... them im out one machine i need
to use SAM grrrrrr!!!

machine is plugged into my APC batteryback up unit
i checked the power Scheme settings and everything is set to NOT go into
hibernate, power save or anything else.
Its just set to run

Ill try plugging it directly into the wall to bypass the APC unit all
together.

When booting into regular mode, it runs fine. It ran all night lastnight
in
regular
after i had to restart cause the first test simply shut off the machine
during testing.

Ill see what i can do unless someone else has an idea this morning.

Is it connected to AC Power when you do the test? If not, I would make
sure
it's
on AC Power. You might also check the BIOS (CAREFUL) to see if there is
some
mode where you can shut off Power Saving while you run the test. If the
machine
only stays on for a minute 30 even when booting normal, I'd have it
looked
at.
