I have 1G PIII with 80 MB HD:

Partition 1 (FAT32) 20MB : windows XP
Partition 2 (FAT32) 20MB
Free and unformatted/unpartitioned 40 MB

The install correctly identifies the extended partition of 40 MB and makes
it hda5. Additional boot/root/swap partitions are suggested.

I have a choice of installing GRUB in the MBR (hda1) or at the beginning of
the linux boot partition.

Question:
1. Can I install in the MBR (hda1) without "screwing up" XP?
2. If I can not and install at the linux boot sector, how do I get to it?

I have seen several references to Win2000 and am not sure if that applies to
XP.

Thanks again,

Bart
