I've installed RedHat 7.2 with Grub as the boot loader
on a Sony Vaio laptop with M$ Windows XP on it
originally and had no problems. Make sure that during
the installation that it recognizes that Windows XP is
a boot menu option.

When I blew away my RedHat 7.2 install and replaced it
with Gentoo booting using Grub, I _did_ wipe out my NT
boot loader. I was able to repair it with
http://www.winimage.com/bootpart.htm and now use a
Grub boot disk to boot into Gentoo. Gonna figure out
how to fix that one day... :)

But before you do anything, make a WinXP Repair Disk.
WinXP is basically the same as WinNT as far as booting
goes. Read the following to find out how to multi-boot
WinNT and Linux:

http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/mini/Multiboot-with-LILO.html
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/mini/Multiboot-with-GRUB.html
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/mini/Linux+NT-Loader.html

But in your specific case, I'll bet it will work just
fine. You can always use the WinXP Repair Disk to
repair your NT boot loader. I think. If that doesn't
work, try: http://www.winimage.com/bootpart.htm

Good luck!
