there you go (my fstab right below, which has the settings for a fat32 
partition on my first hdd that works immaculately), just go ahead and vi 
/etc/fstab and copy over whatever you think you need... its not hard.  if you 
want to learn linux as opposed to just using it because you think bill gates 
might have supported hitler if the timeline would fit right, then i would 
suggest like all hell that you stay away from using things like kfstab and 
stuff.  i would almost go to say dont even use kde and gnome, there are reams 
of other really nice window managers out there, depending on what you want. you 
should see blackbox running on a compaq p166 with 56 megs of ram.  i had 4 
desktops open, each with xterm in them, i was ripping a cd, listening to mp3s, 
chatting in gaim and xchat, downloading mp3s, sylpheed was checking and 
displaying my mail every five and i had even opera open veiwing a few webpages, 
and the mp3s didnt even skip or lag.  
my point is, to learn, learn command line, but if you are just wanting an 
alternate to windows... ignore the above ramblings
