i know a few weeks ago, i was having problems under freebsd with *bad*
seg faults and kernel panics (so bad that the error messages telling me
this were all garbled, took a while to decipher). so i checked out all
the normal problems it might have, and it turned out to be the
motherboard. i only say this bc i dont think ive ever heard anything
good about soyo motherboards except for the mascots(they are pretty cool
looking). that might explain the segfault, but its a last resort kinda
thing. have you checked to make sure there is an fd0 in your /dev
folder? and im not entirely sure, but if it says auto, doesnt that mean
its automounted? ive never fooled with automount (im a command line
freak) so i wouldnt know... good luck with fixin it all though
