Don't know if you've checked the floppy drive with some other operating system. Can you boot via floppy, such as a rescue diskette? If the drive itself is bad, there's a store on Florida out near the Clickers headquarters that carries used floppy drives. I've gotten 4, all of which work. Then there can be a bad floppy cable. I keep a few spares in the junk box.
