My company bought me a Sony Vaio PCG-FX390P. It has
WinXP on it. I put RedHat 7.2 and then put Gentoo 1.0
on it. I can't get my USB optical mouse working on it.

I didn't have any say over the purchase of the laptop,
so I would agree with you to not buy Sony.
