You are right, I don't understand.  Tell me that transparent and usefull 
encryption is possible and can't be broken by Cox's smtp server and I won't 
worry that they force me to use it.  

Any way you look at it, port blocks suck and reducing what your customers can 
do sucks.  Why is it they block incomming mail again?
