I often keep a ssh sesssion open to machines off the cox network and they seem to stay up. However, I often have slow response times. As long as I am not in the middle of something my ssh sessions can usually sustain a loss of connection. Perhaps a Terminal Services connection is a little less forgiving with a loss of connection?
