One thing I have found with COX is that they change
DNS servers fairly frequently (insode of ninty days).
If you are a standard home user with a windows box
when you can connect you will reboot, and viola, all
is right with the world. If you are an always on user
like myself, and prone to fits of sleeplessness, you
will notice the issue.

I find it really annoying to have to go through thirty
minutes of conversation with some phone operator (most
of their tech support people are very much above the
level of receptionists to be honest), only to be told,
"We don't support that. Disconnect your LAN and
connect a windows PC directly to the MODEM. Tehn we
cqan troubleshoot."

Yeah, and then we can talk about what species your
father was. ARGH!

I do not think it is too much to ask for advanced
notice of changing DNS routers, or maintenance
outages. I might even be able to understand if they
only told the help desk, but for the help desk to find
out from me, seems a bit retarded.

Calm down I tell myself. The average intelligence is
not all that bright, and half the planet is slower
thant that. But then, I ask myself, "Does my ISP have
to higher all of the slower ones!"

A solid network is very tough to set up. Once it is
set up, is not rocket science to run though. The good
Lord knows I helped set up enough of them morons are
running just fine now. Why is Cox any different?

Some schumk just walk in one morning and says, "Duh,
gee Rockey, let's change all the DNS servers."

"Gee, I don't Bullwinkle, why don't we send out an
email and let people know what we are going to do?"

"Gosh no, Rockey, I'll just rip this out here and plug
it in over here!"

ZZZIIITT.

Boris grins. Why kill the Moose, the Moose does more
damage alive than Boris could do if the Moose were dead.
