Ok....here's the deal.
Building another machine....once again.

Interested in opinions of video cards.....here are the goals.
~$100 or less price tag....internet prices not local store prices.
I don't play video games but I do like to watch dvds from time to time.
I'm not a videophile but I do like a very responsive desktop. I would
prefer a card that is known to be Linux friendly.

I currently have a Nvidia Geforce2 GTS 32MB

I have been looking around and have come across some potentials that meet
my price range:
Geforce4 TI 4200 64MB (it seems the 64MB version of this card has faster
ram than the 128MB version, although this may be on a manufacturer basis
and not global)
Geforce FX 5600 128MB
Radeon 9600 128MB

I am open to other suggestions. I have a NEC MultiSync 95 19" monitor and
will be sticking with that for a while.
I suppose I want the best bang for the buck however, I partially define
BANG as working with standard RH, DEB, Slack and Gentoo distributions
without having to jump through hoops and perform magic. I am much more
interested in a good, stable, relatively fast video card, than I am in a
lightening fast video card that is great for gaming.

Any ideas? thoughts? suggestions? I've had a couple of people tell me that
I need to watch DVD's on my TV and that I can get a really good, fast,
stable video card for much less that I am planning on spending.....I'm
taking it with a grain of salt until I hear your opinions because although
this individual just finished putting together a new machine, he isn't any
more of a guru than I am.

TIA for any help you can give me,
Cleve
