That's such BS. With that spurious logic, you can make sweeping statements such as: "Sesame street has influenced the way an entire generation of kids thought, therefore they own the everything produced by the kids that grew up watching them." I don't buy it. On another note, it would be absolutely hilarious to find GPL'd code in Windows. If you saw it and didn't use what you saw and wrote something nice, MS would try and prove that you did use their IP.
