I've got a Motorola surfboard which works like a champ.

Nothing else changed. Things are working the way they always did and so I've
got no idea what happened.

The main reason I reported it was as a warning that Cox can do things if they
want to.

Cox does monitor traffic and turn people off. Last year, several Cox users
wandered into Computer Heaven to see what could be done for them. My
impression was that they had been turned off for virus infections and music
sharing.

If they did this to me on purpose and specifically, it's a new twist. While
the address was bogus, it seemed to still be connected. I pinged LSU and got
a valid IP address back.
