If they're just scratched up real bad it sounds more like a physical repair
job than a software extraction (or a combo of the two).  You might want to
look into a GameDr (or DVDDr) whatever they're calling it now, about 20 or
30 bucks at BestBuy (they also sell a motorized one for about $15 more).  We
were getting a lot of dvds from NetFlix that were so scratched up they
wouldn't play so we invested in one - been well pleased with it.
