Was thinking about that. I bought the Linksys WRT54G
which can be flashed with Linux, so I was hoping that
somebody on the list had played with one of those.
Specifically, is each hardware port in the router
considered a separate network device (eth0, eth1,
...)? If so, then doing what I intend should be easy.

I see your point. Using the default ROM from Linksys
doesn't allow the capability I want, but I'm hoping
that Linux for WRT54G
(http://www.batbox.org/wrt54g-linux.html) will.
