What do you want from X besides vendor support? It's run my hardware from a 66 MHz 486 up to the nasty Nvidia mobo I have using KDE with all sorts of eye candy and fancy fonts. There's even a port of it to Zaurus that looks nice and I still have a 24MB, 90 MHz Pentium laptop that runs afterstep and gnome one well. People complain about X but it seems remarkably flexible and powerful. What 24 volume ORiley nightmare are slick interfaces, TKL and Kdevelop hiding from me?
