Amen to both points. Now for my experience: we (NOLUG) had a bunch of political ranting during the 2004 election cycle, to the point where people were unsubbing from the list. We laid down the law, and I created a politics list. I think a total of 5 people joined, and they were all of the same opinion (the liberal side of the debate was a no-show, go figure). I suspect that BRLUG's political list will likewise wither and die, which is fine by me (I *hate* that type of arguing, wherever I find it, and want no part of it).
