It makes this long thread even easier to understand. ;) But seriously, I don't know about you Will, but I don't think the ultimate goal of the Linux community is to eradicate Windows. I think the goal is more, inform people that their is a free'er, better (that we the linux community feel) choice available and to be there to help when someone makes that choice. As buggy as it might be, I think Windows has a role to play in our IT infrastructure and just because someone is running Windows doesn't mean it's a virus laden, bot-owned machine. Windows has brought computers to the World and cheaper hardware helped. Sure there are some fundamental flaws in the business operations at Microsoft, in time maybe people (the lame windows users of the world) will see those flaws and either force MS to change their ways, or switch to another OS. But I don't see a complete annihilation of Windows as an option. I don't see any business saying to their customers, "Don't use Windows", not just because they would get strong armed by MS or the government, but because they would probably want to stay in Business and abandoning Windows users would cut profits. You can create a business and take any stance you want, and if you don't want to support the 95% of users/customers of your business cause they run Windows, more power to you, but me, i'll support anyone I can as long as I can get the business. I doubt you would last very long. Sure, fight the good fight, we understand all that, but you also have to be practical and grounded here in the real world. In the real world people don't care about choices, they just want the easiest way to do what they want. bb
