Thank you all for responding.
Here's what I did, as I remember it:
I downloaded j806_amd64.deb onto my Desktop where it still resides.
I installed by running:
sudo dpkg -i j806_amd64.deb
I invoked ijconsole (without the sudo) and entered:
install 'all'
and it ran without incident.
I just ran JVERSION in ijconsole and I get the exact same result as
David did.
