That your system doesn't match Bill's exactly shouldn't matter. The
"/etc/alternatives" is to allow multiple versions but presumably you just
want j806.

However, you should not get a seg fault on closing term.

Could you try the zip installation into your home directory and let us know
if that works properly? See http://code.jsoftware.com/
wiki/System/Installation/Zips. After copying over to your home directory,
run jconsole.sh, then:

   install 'qtide'
   install 'all'

Exit and run jqt.sh.

There is no need to uninstall the /usr/bin binaries.
