Hi Giannis, Thank you for the context. "Opening doors" and "promoting the project" are valuable activities, but they are not the same as the sustained community engagement the ASF expects of PMC members.
I would encourage everyone to look carefully at the proposed PMC roster and ask whether each person's inclusion can be justified on those grounds.
