The jakarta process is not right for everybody and it is not the end of the world if we have other successfull projects. Linux, PostgreSQL, JBoss, MySQL, Perl, X, etc. If you don't fit the requirements of Jakarta, why try to force it ? People are different and there should be room for different styles of development.
