Our e-mails crossed in the ether. My point: the above needs a champion. And the proposal needs to be supported by the committers of the affected code bases. Ask the committers of these projects if this is what they want. The last time I asked, Ant overwhelmingly wanted to remain in Jakarta. POI has so far made it very clear that they feel like they belong on the server side. I would imagine that BCEL would find this distinction between client and server as rather arbitrary.
