Assuming that the subproject is setup to use the site2 default advice.
This is not required, but is usually the case. The subprojects are
responsible for their own subsite, so the best people to check with are
the committers to that subproject.

Yes, if the subproject site has been setup to work the same way the
"main" site works.

But, again, you should consult with the committers to the subproject.
