I don't know!  I do J to escape that kind of stuff.
All I can tell you is that it looks OK on my 
machine.  

Whatever APL font you install, if
http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/EditingGuidelines/Character_Palette_--_APL
looks OK then the Life paper should look OK.
