Hi David,
At this stage I'm only an occasional (and novice) Linux user. My Linux usage is 
such that I haven't felt the need to get to the bottom of this before. The 
references I gave are all I know!

It would be nice to get some "idiot proof" instructions on the issue! Others 
may be better able to help.
