What I did earlier on a number of Linuces, is to
download sources and build and install a local Mesa,
like ~/lib/Mesa or so. Then it's all very clean.
I got the info from Mesa web site.
It may have to do with LD_LIBRARY_PATH and/or tweaking
find_dll routine.
