To show an example about the confusion about the labs here is one:
Turtle lab in GTK I get the line load 'graphics/jturtle' In JHS I get the line load 'turtle' and then execution fails not found: C:\j701/turtle JHS seems to be using lab from addons/labs/labs/general GTK is using lab from addons/graphics/jturtle The testing page lists addons/labs/labs for the turtle Running the lab in each starts and looks the same but then the JHS labs fails 2011/10/18 Björn Helgason <[email protected]> > I have always been a great fan of labs. > > In the J6 labs/demos are absolutely great. > > In J7 there is somewhat of a confusion about how to feel about labs and > demos. > > I have mixed feelings what to say or do about labs and demos in J7. > > I looked at the page you refer to and I think it is a god beginning. > > I counted the entries on the page and counted 49 labs > > On the JHS labs choosing page I counted 77 labs > > In the GTK labs selection I counted 83 labs > > In the labs selection the full names are a bit different between JHS and > GTK > > I would like to see the same name in both and I would also like to see the > columns from the test page of the status of the lab if it is fully tested > and working or if it is still under some kind of transfer problem and then I > mean where I am choosing the lab in JHS and GTK to make life for the > user/tester/developer easier. > > The labs and demos are very important part of learning J and I think they > are very important to make J7 better and easier to use. > > > 2011/10/18 Ian Clark <[email protected]> > >> > It is interesting to try out the labs in both GTK and JHS. >> >> And while you're at it, please remember to record your results at: >> http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/Addons/labs/labs/ControlLabs >> >> (Work has stalled since May.
