"Shall not be infringed" means shall not be infringed. It stopped me from owning the gun I *wanted* and had the *right* to own. Try again.

And what gun was that?

Bushmaster AR-15 with pistol grip stock, detachable box magazine and flash hider. And any type of new manufacture magazine or ammunition feeding device of over ten rounds.

Shall we treat the "right" to abortion with the same rigor that the left treats the *right* to keep and bear arms?

Last I checked there was no 'right' to abortion. So it seems that 'we' (whomever that is) already are treating a women's choice to have an abortion with the same rigor that the left treats the 'right' to keep and bear arms.

You're correct, there is no right to abortion. But the Supreme Court says there is one. Planned Parenthood says there is one. N.O.W. says there is one. You're in a distinct minority in claiming no right to abortion. Indeed, most of them even say it is a right to have the government pay for it.

And an example quote: "... a woman's fundamental right to have an abortion" - Al Gore at the DNC acceptance speech 2000

No-one said they were a loveable bunch. Being wacky isn't a crime.

Raping children is illegal in every state.

Not one Branch Davidian was convicted of rape or child molestation. In fact, they were convicted of almost nothing.

But tell me, did killing the children improve their situation from the alleged "being held against their will"? Were the soldiers and ATF agents thinking of the welfare of the children when they fired automatic weapons into a plywood structure known to contain children? Janet Reno gave the order for that.

Indeed she did, and it was in poor judgement. However the Branch Davidians weren't the saints that you're implying that they were. They were a bunch of child molesting religious wacknuts who defied a court order to turn themselves in for weeks. How would you suggest this be handled seeing as how the cultists were armed?

Is killing over 100 men, women and children worthy of nothing more than being chalked up to "poor judgment". It was murder.

David Koresh frequently traveled into town alone and unarmed. He and the local sheriff were on friendly terms and the sheriff could travel out to the compound at any time. Koresh could have been picked up in town, or at-worst, have the sheriff handle it. Sending the incompetent, trigger-happy ATF on a ninja-style raid was idiotic beyond words. If memory serves, one of the agents died in the initial poorly conceived raid. So more blood on Janet Reno's hands.

When you're dealing with an apocalyptic religious cult there are smarter ways to accomplish what you want.

By the way, the only thing the BD were wanted for was firearms violations (which they were very guilty of, per statutory law). The later charges of drug making and child molestation were trumped up to gain the support of the National Guard and the sympathy of the press.
