Hm, could be that this is not really an issue with packages itself. I
have experienced this problem on x86_64 as well, but thought this to be
related to another issue I have had. I will take a look into this, but I
would really appreciate if you do the same ;-)

I did a pacman -Qs perl, and the package seems to be installed anyway.
